JJ Palmer

Hi, my name is JJ Palmer. I am a Halifax based photographer obsessed with finding moments that amaze and move. I adore taking my camera around my environment, capturing moments of amazing colour. When I get to work on a Portfolio for a model, a business person, or a Family, I strive to show not just that person, but the role they are playing in their communities, and the story of their life.

When I moved to Halifax in 2008, I was asked to photograph my sister in law’s wedding as I had “the nice camera”. As I was snapping away wondering if I could do this full time, a Grasshopper jumped onto a golf club and posed for me. A week later the CEO of the company I was working for said, ” you are the right people for this job, but if there is something else that is going to make you happy, go do it.”
I took it as a sign, and Grasshopper Photography was born.
